Mr Hohfeld became the Secretary General of the IAIS in 1998. He has served as President of the German Federal Insurance Supervisory office in Berlin.

Previously he has held positions in The Federal Debt Administration in Bad v.d. Hohe, the Federal Ministry and the Federal Property Administration inside the Regional Finance Office of Koblenze.
