John Maroney

John Maroney joined Trowbridge Consulting in 1998, after two years as Executive Director of the Life, Investment and Superannuation Association which merged with two other associations to form the Investment and Financial Services Association. Prior to his role with the associations, John spent most of his career with AMP in a range of strategic, actuarial and superannuation roles apart from a three year period as Australian Government Actuary, with the Insurance and Superannuation Commission.

In addition to his extensive actuarial and financial experience, John has unique insights into the processes that drive government reform within the financial sector and the strategic implications generated for industry sectors and individual companies. Hence he is well placed to assist in reviewing and adapting corporate strategies to the wide range of market and regulatory trends that are occurring. John has presented papers at a range of seminars in Australia and overseas, including a World Bank Conference on Pension Reform in Hungary and a National Retirement Savings Summit in New Zealand. John is a graduate of Macquarie University, qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 1982 and is based in Sydney.
