Alan Oxley is a strategic adviser to business on international trade and investment. He is the Chairman of the Australian APEC Study Centre. He is also Managing Director of International Trade Strategies Pty Ltd. He has advised major corporations, governments and industry bodies throughout the Asia Pacific region on international trade strategies and trends.

Alan is a former Ambassador to and Chairman of the GATT, the predecessor of the World Trade Organisation.Alan is a regular keynote speaker at international business conferences on global trends and globalisation in Asia, North America and Europe. He teaches international trade for a multination international business MBA run by the Asian Association of Management Associations.

He has served as a Commissioner with the Industry Commission and the Resource Assessment Commission and was a member of the Committee of Inquiry into Australia's Standards and Conformance Infrastructure. Alan is a Counsellor to Committee for Economic Development of Australia.
