Alan Wong

Commissioner of Insurances, Hong Kong

Mr Alan Wong Chi-kong is the Commissioner of Insurance of Hong Kong. He is also the Managing Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority. Mr Wong joined the Hong Kong Government in 1979 as an Administrative Officer. In the last 20 years he has worked in various departments and has been involved in a wide range of tasks from television broadcasting, higher education, intellectual property protection to trade and industry.

Prior to his appointment as Commissioner of Insurance in 1996, Mr Wong was a Deputy Secretary for Trade and Industry. Mr Wong has a Bachelor's degree in Economic and Finance from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor of Laws degree from London University, a Master of Social Science degree from Hong Kong University in Urban Studies, and a Diploma in Development Studies from Cambridge University. In 1996 he attended the Advance Management Program at the Harvard Business School
