Robert Glading is a consultant with wide-ranging experience in the insurance industry. He has served as chairman of Life Insurance Federation Australia and is a past president of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia as well as director of Life Insurance Complaints Service Ltd.

He has been a government member of Life Insurance Actuarial Standards Boards, Chairman of the Education Management Committee and a member or convenor of various IAA and LIFA Committees. He spent ten years (1987- 98) as Deputy Commissioner, Life Insurance, Insurance and Superannuation Commission.
