Paul McCarthy is General Manager Group Regulatory Affairs with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

He has over 38 years experience in banking, in a career that has embraced various areas of retail and commercial banking, together with economic research and regulatory issues.

He was Chief Economist of the Commonwealth Bank from 1984 to 1992.

In his current role he has responsibility for global regulatory issues across the Commonwealth Bank Group.
