Hans Wagner is the Chief Actuary for International Operations for AXA Asia-Pacific Holdings, based in Melbourne, Australia. In this role he supports AXA's country life insurance operations on a variety of financial issues.

Prior to joining AXA in 1998, Hans was a member of the Actuarial Services Group of Ernst & Young LLP in the United States. He provided consulting services in a variety of areas including financial and performance reporting, audit support, mergers and acquisitions, and asset-liability management. He also participated in several US state insurance regulatory examinations of companies, and provided training for insurance examiners.

Hans is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in the United States, an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries in Australia, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He worked at several US insurance companies earlier in his career, including MetLife and a subsidiary of American Express. A former high school teacher, Hans promises there will not be a quiz after his talk.
